Caramel Macaron
This one was chewier than I expected it to be, but it had an interesting filling, it was super fatty with an almond pasty kind of hint to it. I thought it was going to be lighter. I’ve only had the small ones before but I liked this one better.

Thomas Keller Oreo (TKO)
Yvo said she tried this at the Bouchon on the west coast and didn’t like it. Then she said that she thought actual Oreos were better. Then she said she didn’t like Oreos. Then she said something about inebriated states and Oreos that I can’t repeat. Either way we had to try the TKO to settle this dispute. She conceded that this one was much better. I loved it. It was much better than a regular Oreo.

Chocolate Bouchon
A really well-done brownie. You know how you can get the brownies with chocolate chips in them and you can feel it when you bite into a chocolate chips? I hate that. They must have known this because they fixed that. There are chocolate chip-like areas of the Bouchon that you just bite right through. That was impressive.

Pecan Sticky Bun
This one had a crust I wasn’t super psyched about (kind of sugary and a touch too hard for my liking at this point in my sugary quest) but it got moist real quick. I would like to try this one first next time.

The Lemon Tart
GM Julie’s favorite and Yvo’s as well. She kid that it was a palate cleanser but it seriously was. I ate my half in seconds. It was so light and fruity; it was a very welcome change to the carbier items. I’m sure you’re looking at all this and saying “Oh my GOD. I can’t believe they got to try all of this!” If you think of it, we tried all of it at the same time. They gave us nine pastries! How are two people supposed to eat nine pastries?
Oh, who am I kidding. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Raspberry Almond Croissant
This one had a very hard crust that I was put off by at the touch. When I bit into it, I did a 180. It was like no other consistency of croissant that I’ve ever eaten. The raspberry filling was just right.

Flaky as all hell. A chocolate filling wrapped by 1,247 layers of chocolate pastry (I counted). I destroyed it in one bite.
