Spitzer’s Corner – New York, NY

used with permission from sethw on flickrI don’t know . . . does this place pride itself on having a wide selection of beers? Maybe I am just spoiled by the hometown bar of one of my high school lacrosse buddies (Novare Res in Portland, ME)

I had an Allagash that was amazing here, and there was a decent volume of it. Probably cost the same in NYC as it does in Portland; I digress. It’s got a pretty decent selection, but nothing like Novare or the Brickskeller. Again, I am pretty sure this isn’t the premier beer selection bar in NYC.

Someone mentioned that I should try a short rib burger. It was literally impossible not to try the short rib burger after he mentioned it, because when I am hanging out with Karen, and short ribs are on the menu, she eats them. We had been talking about food earlier that evening (I couldn’t wait and tried a chimmmichurri when i was lost in Little Dominica – I don’t know if that’s the name for it, but it seems an appropriate moniker). This burger might have been the best burger I have ever tasted, or the vast difference in quality between the chimmichurri and the short rib burger made it seem that way. I just want to know if it’s made out of actual short ribs . . .

The natural wood decor was perfect; modern without pretense The bartenders and waitstaff were quite attentive and knowledgeable. My beer recommendations were excellent throughout the night.

If I ever end up living in NYC again for any stretch of time, I will go back.

Sounds like a really nice comfortable place.

Was this where Mr. Spitzer brought all his prostitutes? Hmmm
