Tuck Shop – New York, NY

Gotta say that we had the meat pie right after I orgasmed at Caracas a few blocks away. This was my choice of the day after my ex’s choice of three other places to check out – she was right about her places and I batted .500 after looking to Yelp for inspiration.

The Meat Pie: I am a bit of a meat pie snob. My mother has made us french meat pie since we were children. You know (or at least you hope) that a son is always partial to his mother’s cooking, but on many different occasions, I have heard people pick out her pie crust as being some of the best pie crust that they’ve ever had. I never really took the time to reflect on that information before writing this review. Looking back at at my career of foodieism, I would have to say that the crust my mother makes is right at the tip top of the list in crusts that I have had the benefit of enjoying.

That being said, my mom’s french meat pie is moist and stays that way for a bout of reheating.

Needless to say, my mom’s moist meat pie and my grandma’s potato chowder are some of my favorite dishes.

I love my grandmas home made potato salad. There's just something special about when your grandma makes something.

My husband is a complete mamas boy. He always used to run to her house for a home cooked meal. That we've been married for ten years, he'd rather stay at home and have my food instead! Finally!

Honestly, I've never eaten a meat pie before. It doesn't sound very appetizing to me.
